About the Role

Join our team and play a key role in keeping our transit system running smoothly! As a Farebox Puller, you’ll be responsible for removing farebox vaults from buses and replacing them with empty vaults as they arrive at our operations facilities. This is a hands-on position that ensures accurate handling of fare collection equipment and materials.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Remove and replace farebox cashboxes from incoming buses.
  • Use electronic data probes to transfer data into GFI systems.
  • Secure vault receivers and maintain accurate nightly records.
  • Occasionally handle cash from Black Boxes and deposit money bags.
  • Assist dispatchers with materials and schedule monitoring.
  • Load, unload, and store packets and materials.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: High School diploma or GED.
  • License: Valid Florida driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds during an 8-hour shift.
  • Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Position Description: This position performs routine work in removing farebox vaults from buses and replacing them with empty vaults as buses pull into assigned Operations facility between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.*

 

Essential Functions: This list is intended to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification and is not designed to be interpreted as an exhaustive listing of all tasks required of employees assigned to the job. All employees will be expected to perform other duties as assigned. All jobs require regular and reliable attendance.

 

  • Removes and replaces farebox cashboxes from incoming buses; uses Electronic Data Probe to exchange data into GFI computer when removing cashboxes.
  • Lifts cashboxes into the receiver to separate coins from bills and tickets.
  • Secures receivers after all vaults are pulled.
  • On occasion, removes cash from the Black Box and puts money bags in the Money Room chute.
  • Maintains accurate records of vaults and documents the number of vaults pulled each night.
  • Assists dispatchers with collecting materials from operators, obtaining transfers from storage, monitoring Public Timetable Schedules and replacing when necessary.
  • Loads, unloads, and stores packets and materials.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Additional directly related experience beyond the minimum requirement may substitute for the required education on a year- for-year basis.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license and safe driving record.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Ability to operate and maintain vault pulling equipment including electronic probes.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work evenings, early morning hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with those encountered in the course of work using principles of excellent customer service.

 

Work Environment and Special Considerations:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds on a frequent basis during an eight-hour shift.
  • Shifts may involve weekends and holidays.
  • Must be willing to work 5:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. *Shift hours may vary depending on location.
  • May be required to work at one of two operations facility (Orlando and Osceola).
  • Drives a company vehicle to travel from Orlando and Osceola operations facilities.
  • May be required to work in outdoor weather conditions.
