LSSI is hiring a full-time Therapeutic Foster Care Caseworker, 2 days out of the week. As a member of the Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) staff, takes the lead on coordinating and implementing the treatment plan for a caseload of treatment foster care children and their families. Responsible for ensuring the child’s needs for safety, permanency, and well-being are met within the context of an evidence-based model of treatment foster care and using a trauma-informed approach.

Essential Functions: 

  • Coordinate the implementation of an integrated service plan for all children assigned to the Treatment Foster Care Program. Service plan components include daily treatment in the therapeutic foster home as well as overall case plan goals which address the child’s step-down plans, permanency, and well-being goals.
  • Coordinate the implementation of service plan components related to the child’s birth family and/or step-down family.
  • Complete all tasks within the context of an evidenced based model, ensuring the model is implemented with fidelity. Interventions will apply principles of social learning theory, developmental psychology, and trauma-informed care.
  • Complete and submit all required reports related to service accurately and on time.
  • Complete casework requirements, including service plans, case notes, court reports, and other casework and documentation as required by DCFS accurately and on time.
  • Complete home study for potential foster parents; may be responsible for completion of all licensing documentation and recommendations.
  • Participate in supervisory process for guidance, direction, support, and approval of decision making, assessment, service planning and intervention. Present cases for staffing and/or participates in staffings as needed, including weekly team meetings.
  • Participate in the on-call/crisis intervention response for the TFC Team.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human services field is required. 
  • Minimum of one (1) year of related experience preferred.
  • Child Welfare Employee License (CWEL), CCA and 402 or ability to obtain.
  • Training in Treatment Foster Care of Oregon (TFCO) model, or available to participate in the TFCO training after hired required.
  • Training in KEEP and/or GenerationsPMTO or availability to participate in training, coaching and fidelity to certification once hired required. 
  • Successful completion of CCS Bootcamp required.
  • Successful completion of Client-Centered Service Planning and Aftercare Planning Training preferred.
  • Experience with providing services using a team approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate children, their families, and foster parents to participate in a highly detailed treatment model.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Background check clearance, both criminal and CANTS required
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required. 
  • Access to reliable transportation. 
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.
