The purpose of the role – why is this a great opportunity?
The main purpose of the role is to assure the delivery of all accounting, compliance, financial and tax reporting processes in scope. Statutory and Tax Reporting Senior Specialist is a pivotal role in ensuring statutory, tax and group reporting with appropriate quality and in accordance to deadlines.
As Statutory and Tax Reporting Senior Specialist your responsibilities will include:
• Acting as subject matter expert for end-to end statutory processes, e.g. statutory financial statement preparation, direct & indirect tax filings, driving all statutory processes for assigned business area as per agreed timelines and scope, coordinating audit process for assigned entities
• Performing compliance & reporting tasks in line with defined processes and work instructions
• Executing period-end tasks for assigned unit(s), performing reconciliation and clearing of accounts, reporting actuals in reporting systems on timely manner and meeting quality targets
• Performing Internal Controls defined for Compliance & Reporting
• Providing support to Financial Controller in the assigned controlling tasks
• Proactively assisting Financial Controller to identify any areas of improvement to help maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes
• Participating in projects and the implementation of improvement initiatives
• Being owner of relationship with external service providers e.g. tax advisors, statutory auditor
• Being responsible for maintaining process documentation for assigned entities
Your future team
As our Statutory and Tax Reporting Senior Specialist you will be part of Accounting to Reporting team who consist of around 12 people. A2R team is part of A2R department that is responsible for accounting and group, statutory and tax reporting processes delivered to over 50 entities around the world.
What you bring to the team
• Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting
• Minimum 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
• English at B2/C1 (another European language is welcome)
• Strong GL accounting knowledge including IFRS knowledge
• Experience with preparing financial statements under local accounting standards or IFRS
• Relevant practical experience with preparation of tax computations & tax filings (CIT, VAT and WHT reporting; a knowledge of deferred tax calculations will be an asset)
• Knowledge of SAP and MS Office
• ACCA/CIMA is an asset
