About this role

The role involves serving as a Staff Product Engineer focused on rebuilding the software infrastructure of modern hospitals from scratch, using Elixir to deliver a fault-tolerant, cloud-native platform. It entails developing a radically better access control system for clinical data with fine-grained permissions that respect data structure and ownership while enabling population-level insights for public health. It requires designing infrastructure that supports rolling deployments, failover, and real-time data synchronization to keep hospitals online 24/7, and architecting a next-generation integration engine to connect ventilators, bedside monitors, imaging equipment, lab devices, and more in real time. It also includes rethinking hospital workflows to move data between nurses, doctors, and administrators, turning complex, click-heavy processes into fast, intuitive experiences. The position operates within a small, high-performance, mission-driven team, with a flexible hybrid work model that expects onsite three days per week and backing from leading venture capital firms.
