Job Purpose:
Our Front-End Web Developer would be responsible for the design, construction and on-going maintenance of the Automation web pages and configuration tools. Responsibilities would also include presentation of data analytics as required by the customers as well as customer facing support relating to front end website related issues.
Working knowledge of REST APIs and the AWS platform would be desirable. The candidate would not be required to support the development or maintenance of the data repository or the API itself as part of their day-to-day activities but may be required to provide ad-hoc support in the future. Therefore, skills that complement these areas would be favored.
Key Accountabilities
Design, implement and test software for GridKey Data Centre web pages
Design reviews, Strict version control, Software Documentation, Content for User Documentation
Prepare and maintain Test specifications and Test cases
Carry out testing as per test plan and Capture, document and report test results and observations
Coordinate and deliver in cooperation with other project teams, assist with project planning and reporting
Job Context
The position is responsible to construct and maintain GridKey Data Centre web pages and other related activities as allocated. Working as a member within the web development team, who collectively execute all the necessary activities to maintain, improve and optimise our products for the customer and production – considering especially the ease-of-use and reliability aspects.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
A degree in a relevant subject (Computer/Software engineering or equivalent) Minimum 8+ years working experience in similar industry
Self-driven individual with hands-on skills.
Job-Specific Skills: Essential strengths:
• Strong HTML5/CSS skills for front end presentation
• Experience designing user-responsive front ends and the associated back-end processing technologies to support them
• Experience in scalable server-side frameworks, such as, but not limited to Node.js
• Familiar with Java
• Familiar with 1 or more other server-side languages, such as Ruby, Python or PHP
• Experience of building and reusable code libraries
• Familiar with REST-APIs
• Basic knowledge of Cassandra NoSQL databases
• Experience of developing applications hosted in an AWS platform
• Understand the principles of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems/servers
• Familiar with building solutions that are optimized for speed and scalability
• Strong graphic design skills to assist with the front-end website development (Adobe suite or similar)
Desirable strengths:
• Basic knowledge of Linux
• Familiar with code versioning tools such as Git
