Job Purpose
The contract engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and customizing medium voltage switchgear solutions for Lucy Electric Thailand. This role focuses on product design, engineering calculations, and the preparation of technical drawings and documentation to ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and company quality principles. The contract engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain, to deliver cost-effective, innovative, and reliable engineering solutions.

The role requires strong collaboration with both local teams and global engineering centers.

Job Dimensions
• Reports to: Engineering Manager / Technical Manager
• Location: Lucy Electric Thailand – Factory/Office
• Key Interfaces: Sales, Production, Procurement, Quality, Service, and Global Engineering Teams
• Direct Reports: None

Key Accountabilities
These will include:
1. To work closely with the Technical, Production & Sales Managers.
2. Contribute to the local implementation and any necessary engineering work of Lucy switchgear products in Thailand.
3. Interpreting customer requirements and specifications. Undertake design of all types of customer variations on existing products produced at the Thailand factory.
4. Preparation of detailed drawings using 3D CAD & product data management systems. Plus produce 2D electrical schematic drawings.
5. Liaison with Customers and Sales, Contracts, Production and Operations staff to deliver customer requirements within time scales, budgets, and operational constraints.
6. Maintain a Technical Library and keep informed and up to date of competitor’s technical solutions.
7. Support Contracts Department during customer inspections.
8. Work to ISO 9001 quality standards.

Secondary activities / tasks
1. To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed in order to maintain and / or improve the efficiency, quality and service provided by the Contract Design Office
2. Ensure all activities are following the standards and the region laws that govern Lucy’s scope of work.
3. Health & Safety – adherence to all Company Health & Safety Policies, Procedures and Safe Working Practices. 
4. Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of information relating to the company’s business and staff.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills
• LET is looking for an individual who can develop and grow into the role in a pressure & developing environment.
• The ideal candidate will have knowledge of electrical switchgear up to 24/36 kV. But if not, a good sound background in electrical and mechanical engineering is required.
• Exposure to commercial aspects of contract engineering.
• Proficient in NX/Team Centre 3D CAD system but training would be given to successful candidate.
• Technology strong in electro-mechanical design engineering concepts.
• Prior hands-on experience in application / product / system design using software tools.
• Must have some experience of managing engineering data and control of CAD systems
• Methodical approach to problem solving.
• Proactive approach.
• Ability to adapt to a multi-cultural environment. Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

• PC Literate in MS Office
• Must be fluent in English.

Qualifications
• Required Electrical (or Mechanical) Thailand Engineering Degree.
• Experience in an engineering design function in an electro-mechanical industry is desirable. 
• Proficient with at least one of the well-known CAD systems both 3D modelling and 2D drawing creation.
• Some experience of an engineering base data management system.
