Position Summary


We are seeking a skilled and proactive Systems / Storage Engineer to join the IT Infrastructure team. This key technical role is based onsite at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) and is responsible for managing and supporting enterprise systems, physical and virtual servers, storage platforms, and backup solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Wintel infrastructure, virtualization technologies, enterprise storage, and data protection systems. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of the IT infrastructure and may also involve participation in infrastructure implementations and system upgrades, as required.


RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL DUTIES



  • Provide hands-on support for Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP services.

  • Manage and maintain Domain Controllers and Group Policies to ensure secure and stable domain operations.

  • Administer VMware virtualization platforms, including vCenter and ESXi hosts for VM lifecycle management.

  • Support and manage Citrix environments and participate in application publishing and troubleshooting.

  • Perform system patching and vulnerability remediation across all platforms based on security standards.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Linux systems for hybrid environment support.

  • Ensure security the best practices are followed in system configurations and daily operations.

  • Manage and monitor storage systems including Dell storage, TrueNAS, and NFS shares.

  • Monitor system health using various monitoring tools, perform proactive issue resolution and performance tuning.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues across physical servers including Supermicro, Dell VxRail, and Dell PowerEdge.

  • Deploy and configure virtual machines and automate routine tasks using scripts or tools.

  • Maintain and administer backup solutions including Rubrik and Veeam.

  • Support time synchronization and configuration of NTP services across infrastructure.

  • Work closely with the network and security teams to ensure alignment on infrastructure, compliance, and incident resolution.

  • Provide support for Microsoft O365 services as needed.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation and support records.

  • Assist and collaborate with the helpdesk team in resolving complex end-user issues.

  • Participate in the review and updating of operational support documents and procedures.



SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, or a related field.

  • 5 years of hands-on experience as a System Administrator or Systems Engineer in virtualization and storage management

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.

  • Proficient in VMware vCenter/ESXi and Citrix administration.

  • Working knowledge of Linux in mixed-OS environments.

  • Experience with enterprise storage systems such as Dell, TrueNAS, and NFS.

  • Familiar with backup solutions including Rubrik and Veeam.

  • Understanding of network protocols, NTP, and basic MS SQL database support.

  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 administration and security best practices.

  • Excellent troubleshooting experience, including use of monitoring tools and root cause analysis.

  • Basic knowledge of networking, including IP addressing, subnets, routing, and firewall concepts

  • Skilled in automating routine tasks via scripting tools.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and communicate technical information.

  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and support end users effectively.

  • Solid understanding of ITIL-based support processes.
