The Staff Technical Project Manager – Automotive Software Quality is responsible for driving Quality PDP deliverables across major and minor vehicle programs, with a primary focus on software quality and functional safety. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to ensure software quality objectives, processes, and deliverables are executed and meet expectations throughout development, launch, and post-launch phases.


Key focus areas include software deviation management, quality issue management, validation readiness, and continuous improvement.


You Will



  • Drive Quality PDP deliverables across major and minor programs, with emphasis on software quality execution.

  • Partner with Software Engineering, Systems, Validation, Functional Safety, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality to ensure quality objectives and processes are executed as planned.

  • Establish and oversee software quality strategy throughout the full product development lifecycle, from concept through SOP and post-launch.

  • Lead software deviation management and quality issue management, including triage, escalation, root cause analysis, and closure.

  • Define, track, and report software quality metrics and KPIs, including internal and external issue trends and corrective action effectiveness.

  • Support and execute software validation and verification activities, including review of test plans, coverage, and defect data.

  • Support ISO 26262 functional safety activities, including review of software safety work products and alignment to functional safety requirements.

  • Facilitate cross-functional reviews on open software, plant, and field issues, driving alignment and closure.

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, NPI, and Incoming Quality to ensure software readiness for launch and post-launch support.

  • Drive lessons learned, benchmarking, and continuous improvement initiatives across programs.

  • Serve as the Quality point of contact for assigned software programs and platforms.


You Bring



  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field, or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in quality, software, systems, or technical project/program management roles.

  • Experience working with embedded automotive software in a product development environment.

  • Working knowledge of software development lifecycles (Agile, V-Model).

  • Familiarity with software validation, testing methodologies, and defect management.

  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety fundamentals.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to drive root cause and corrective actions using data.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex quality issues.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with engineering teams and senior leadership.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Comfortable working in a matrixed organization and influencing without direct authority.

  • Automotive industry experience preferred.

  • Experience with ASPICE, ISO 9001, or automotive quality systems preferred.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

 

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.  (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$153,100$224,510 USD
