Get to Know Your Team:
The Medical Physicist has an academic Masters Degree and at least one academic degree in Physics or a closely allied science.
They a member of the radiation therapy treatment team who is familiar with the physical and geometric characteristics of the radiation equipment and radioactive sources commonly employed, and they have the training and expertise necessary to measure and generate radiation, output, dose distributions and calculations without any close supervision.
The physicist is expected to be Board Certified (ABR, ABMP, or equivalent) before completion of the 5th year of service.
Job Requirements:
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
