The Admissions Coordinator and Recruiter is under the general direction of the Director of Admissions of the Law Center. The Coordinator and Recruiter assists the Director and Associate Director of Admissions in implementing admissions policies and procedures designed to meet the goals of the Law Center. The Coordinator and Recruiter must be able to work independently and exercise independent judgment within established admissions policies and procedures, when discharging their duties.
Recruiting – 30%
Assist in the development and implementation of effective recruitment strategies to accomplish the enrollment goals of the Law Center. Serve as the primary off campus representative for the Office of Admissions to visit colleges and universities, to attend law/grad fairs; and to host events on/off campus. Represent the Office of Admissions at off campus recruitment events for prospective students; conduct admission counseling sessions to advise students on the admissions process, curriculum and scholarships. Assist prospective students with applying for admission.
Admissions Management – 30%
Serve as the primary liaison between the Law Center and applicants and admitted students. Processes applications for admission, completes files and prepares the files for evaluation. Coordinates and provides accurate information related to applicant inquiries, by telephone, email, postal mail, or in person. Assist admitted students with matters related to preparing for enrollment or transitioning to LSU Law. Handles administrative details related to student admissions, including mailing of correspondence, answering telephone calls or emails, directing visitors, and assisting with students in preparation for visits to the Law Center.
Office Programming-20%
Organize and coordinate on and off campus recruitment events. Assist with all admissions events and Law Center orientation and graduation activities as needed. Supervise Admissions Office social media. Coordinates and oversees Student Ambassador volunteers.
Data Management/Reporting - 15%
Serves as the office liaison with the Law School Admission Council regarding all electronic services provided to prospective law students. Develops proficiency with the Unite system, while maintaining a working relationship with the LSAC technology team. Assist Director and Associate Director with reporting, and monitoring statistics related to prospects, admitted, and enrolled students. Assists with the maintenance of office data and ensuring accuracy with office reporting.
Other – 5%

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant experience. A master's degree can substitute for 2 years of experience required. A Juris Doctor degree can substitute for 3 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Social Media/Marketing experience helpful, e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Previous admissions/recruitment in higher education experience.
Special or Physical Qualifications
Ability to work a flexible schedule-including evenings and weekends and to travel as needed. Valid Driver's License. Comfortable in a highly automated environment using multiple databases. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. This position may be subject to drug/alcohol testing per PS-67.

Should a student appear in need of or seek assistance with issues of an emotional, behavioral, or mental health related matter they should be referred to the proper service within the Student Health Center. In situations where the student creates an impression that they are a danger to themselves or others, the advisor should immediately contact the Care Team, the Dean of Students or the appropriate law enforcement agency. The employee outside of those rights contained within FERPA should create no impression of client or patient confidentiality.
