This is a Journeyman position in our HVAC department. This position requires basic skills in the maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration equipment including preventative maintenance duties.
Performs preventative maintenance duties such as add coolant, change & adjust belts, change air filters and service equipment with lubricants and chemicals. -30%
This position requires working independently with minimal supervision to investigate make general repairs to buildings' air conditioning/heating systems and other related mechanical equipment such as freezers, fans, etc. - 30%
Recharges air conditioning system with proper amount of lubricant and refrigerant. -10%
Installs, replaces, adjusts and calibrates major components of refrigeration units: compressors, condensers, expansion valves, service values, thermostats, coils and drive assemblies - 10%
Overhauls and repairs pumps, motors, control systems, piping and other equipment used in refrigerating and air conditioning systems. -10%
Works along side of other advance journeyman to troubleshoot and repair control systems. -5%
Performs other duties as assigned by the Department including on-call and emergency work when required. -5%

This position is considered emergency essential and may be required to report to campus in times of emergency and/or closure per PS-18.
This position requires a valid driver's license, will require an MVR, and is subject to drug screens per PM-33/PS-67/FASOP HR-04
This position is classified as a safety and security-sensitive position. These positions are subject to drug screens per PS-67/FASOP HR-04.
This position will require a physical evaluation based on the physical demands required.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience or training in the installation and/or maintenance of heating, ventilating, or air conditioning systems.
