Executive Assistant to the President
This unclassified position provides executive-level administrative support to the LSU System President and contributes to the effective operation of a fast-paced and complex office that manages sensitive matters on behalf of the LSU System. The Executive Assistant works independently in a collaborative team environment and is expected to exercise sound judgment, initiative, and a high level of discretion. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong follow-up skills, and a commitment to ethical conduct in all administrative processes. Professionalism, confidentiality, diplomacy, efficiency, and excellent communication skills are essential to managing a diverse and demanding workload.
Job Responsibilities:
Provides executive-level support for the President, including comprehensive calendar management, coordination of meetings, and preparation and dissemination of correspondence, presentations, agendas, notices, and meeting minutes. Issues directives on behalf of the President as appropriate.
Manages the day-to-day operations of the President’s office. Serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external inquiries, assesses urgency, determines appropriate action, and responds via email and telephone. Greets and directs visitors.
Assists with planning and coordination of meetings and events; arranges travel; and processes travel and expense reimbursements. Monitors the status of pending items, provides timely follow-up to stakeholders, and ensures staff are informed by communicating relevant information.
Tracks and manages documents requiring review by the President. Coordinates with System campuses, units reporting to the President, and external stakeholders to facilitate document execution and information exchange.
Performs ad hoc duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma with 5 years of executive level support experience.
