This role exists to deliver accurate and timely payroll services to Lonza and Capsugel India. The position ensures complete payroll preparation and delivery, employee query resolution, reporting, and record management in line with Lonza processes and systems. The incumbent acts with independence, sound judgment, and discretion while providing advice and support on policies, procedures, administrative, operational matters, and collective agreements.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage end‑to‑end payroll processing, reporting, record updates, and continuous improvement/automation initiatives.
  • Liaise with payroll vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Perform Workday activities: hiring, data changes, separations, promotions, and transfers.
  • Collect and update employee Time & Attendance records for monthly payroll processing.
  • Ensure timely submission of monthly/quarterly/annual payroll tax returns (TDS, Professional Tax, etc.).
  • Resolve employee queries related to income tax, benefits, perquisites, PF, gratuity, etc.
  • Manage full employee lifecycle activities including preparing offer/transfer/promotion/termination letters, onboarding/offboarding, induction, confirmation, benefits administration, and HR system updates.
  • Maintain and update employee database in Workday and personnel files.
  • Maintain leave database, including manual leave inputs for collective staff.
  • Support Annual Salary Review and bonus processes, including database creation and letter issuance.
  • Support yearly budgeting and processes requiring employee/payroll data.
  • Prepare monthly site-specific and statutory reports (headcount, payroll-related).
  • Provide audit data to finance and resolve audit queries.
  • Support local/regional HR projects and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:

A collaborative and detail‑oriented professional capable of independently managing payroll and HR operations in a dynamic, matrixed environment.

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (preferred)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in SME/manufacturing end‑to‑end payroll processing.
  • Experience with Timekeeping and Attendance systems.
  • Experience interacting with employee unions and exposure to plant‑based environments (preferred).
  • Experience working in a matrix multinational environment.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, Excellent stakeholder management, Hands-on expertise in payroll, T&A, and HR systems (Workday preferred), Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, Good understanding of statutory compliance and employee lifecycle operations, Team player mindset
  • Languages: English (required)
