About this role

Job Summary: Temporary 2/2-8/2/26. The Data Coordinator, Perinatal Institute, enters, collects and compiles required data from various sources in accordance with requirements and established measurement criteria into the hospital, Perinatal Institute departments, and State research data bases; codes entries and procedures for registry data banks as required for research, benchmarking, quality improvement, and accreditation; prepares reports and presentations utilizing data base resources, e.g. Perinatal Profiles, CPQCC, Still birth registry, California birth defects registry, vital records, etc.; identifies opportunities for improvement in data collection, analysis, and management of the data base; provides administrative and secretarial support for Perinatal Institute departments; performs duties using CPQCC state database as required for the position; utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service and professionalism; promotes a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and clientele. Performs other duties as needed. 

Education and Experience: Minimum one year of college or vocational education required. Minimum two years of experience acceptable in lieu of college or vocational education. Minimum two years advanced secretarial experience and medical terminology required. 

Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency in software applications necessary to the position required; knowledge of quality improvement methodology preferred. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position; Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
