The Nutrition Clinical Coordinator delivers the courses associated with the Supervised Experiential Learning to ensure students receive the instruction they need while in their Supervised Experiential Learning rotations. The Nutrition Clinical Coordinator monitors the time records and evaluation forms submitted by the students and their preceptors.   The Nutrition Clinical Coordinator is responsible for ensuring courses, faculty, and students meet supervised experiential learning expectations, goals, and outcomes. They will coordinate with preceptors to assign and modify the rotation schedule to meet the needs of students, preceptors, and facilities.   The Nutrition Clinical Coordinator is responsible for mentoring student dietitians to be leaders in their field and practice in line with the mission, vision, and values of Logan University.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Facilitate the transformation of student dietitians to competent, compassionate, and culturally responsive professionals who can apply the curriculum in real-world practice. Deliver the Supervised Experiential Learning courses. Responsible for student orientation prior to beginning the Supervised Experiential Learning course and rotations. Along with the Program Director, responsible for the revision of Supervised Experiential Learning curriculum to keep it up to date, evidence-based, and compliant with accreditation standards. Seek out innovative experiential learning opportunities for students and embed them into the curriculum and rotations. In partnership with the Program Director, involved with student recruitment, advisement, evaluation, and counseling, as appropriate. Recruit, orient, train, and retain quality preceptors. Facilitate and maintain affiliation agreements. Conduct annual site visits. Responsible for the Supervised Experiential Learning rotation schedule. Monitor student progress in achieving all ACEND required competencies, hours, and other standards. Support student readiness for the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credentialing exam. Conduct scholarly activities and service that enhance student learning and advance the dietetics profession. Communicate and coordinate with program students, preceptors, faculty, and others involved with the program to foster a positive learning environment. Provide leadership, oversight, and mediation related to preceptor/student conflict resolution. Facilitate ongoing professional development with preceptors regarding best practices related to dietetics. In partnership with the Program Director, ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and accrediting bodies' rules and regulations. In collaboration with the Program Director, maintenance of program accreditation (if appropriate), including: Maintenance of the program's student records, including student advising plans and supervised experiential learning hours Maintenance of concerns/complaints about the program received from students or others, including disposition of the concerns/complaints; Ongoing review of the program’s curriculum to meet the accreditation standards Facilitation of processes for continuous program evaluation Timely submission of required documentation supporting the graduate's eligibility for the credentialing exam. All other duties as assigned.   ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assumes additional responsibilities, performs special projects, and assists with other duties as needed or requested. QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training, and Experience Master's degree and credentialed as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, with 3 years of related professional experience post-credentialing. Must hold a dietitian license in the state of Missouri, or obtain Missouri State Licensure within 6 months of hire. Experience in course development is highly preferred. Both in-person and online instructional experience is also preferred.   Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics Consistently use effective interpersonal and communication skills. Consistently use effective organizational skills and tools, including word processing and spreadsheets. Ability to maintain mental concentration for extended periods of time. Ability to perform multiple duties in addition to departmental responsibilities with frequent interruptions and time pressures. Possess the ability to tolerate and implement changes. Ability to perform and function in a manner consistent with mentoring faculty and students.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS The nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment. Must beable to talk and hear to answer phones and when assisting others. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop or kneel. Close vision is needed to use a computer. Must have distance vision and depth perception for safety purposes. Requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile, and prepare work documents, and set up and maintain work files. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.   WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed on campus in a general office environment and classrooms. Travel to affiliated sites is required. Remote work allowed for certain tasks, provided job responsibilities are carried out effectively, and performance expectations are met. .
