The Logan Health Rural Health Clinic in Conrad, MT, is expanding its specialty care offerings with new Dermatology services, and we are seeking a skilled, patient‑centered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our Dermatology provider. This is a unique opportunity to join a dedicated rural healthcare team and help build a service line that will greatly enhance access to dermatologic care throughout Pondera County and surrounding communities.

About the Conrad Rural Health Clinic

Rooted in community care and located at 809 Sunset Blvd, the Logan Health Rural Health Clinic provides comprehensive healthcare to patients of all ages. Services include primary and preventive care, pediatrics, women’s and men’s health, therapy services, respiratory care, school-based health, walk‑in care, virtual care—and now, dermatology.
Our clinic operates Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering accessible, reliable care to rural Montanans.

Position Summary

The Dermatology LPN plays a vital role in ensuring high‑quality, compassionate patient care. This position supports the Dermatology provider through clinical procedures, patient education, care coordination, and maintaining smooth clinic operations. The LPN will participate in patient assessments, implement provider orders, prepare and administer medications within scope, and assist in a variety of dermatologic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Dermatology-Focused Clinical Support

  • Assist Dermatology provider during office visits, exams, and in‑office procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy, lesion evaluations, wound care, and other dermatologic treatments permitted within LPN scope.
  • Prepare exam rooms, equipment, sterile instruments, and supplies specific to dermatology needs.
  • Perform and document limited physical assessments, including dermatology‑relevant patient history and symptom monitoring.
  • Administer medications and injections as ordered, within LPN scope of practice.
  • Provide patient education related to wound care, biopsy aftercare, sun protection, dermatologic conditions, and medication use.
  • Collect, prepare, label, and process pathology specimens according to protocol.
  • Maintain infection control standards and ensure proper cleaning, sterilization, and room turnover for dermatologic procedures.

General LPN Duties

  • Implement and document provider orders, treatments, and patient instructions accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide telephone triage within standardized protocols and arrange follow‑up, testing, or procedures as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling, referrals, prior authorizations, and care coordination.
  • Track inventory, manage dermatology supplies, and monitor medication/supply expiration dates.
  • Maintain medication refrigerator/freezer logs, narcotic counts, and other required records.
  • Participate in patient teaching (e.g., diabetes education, diet planning, medication administration education) as applicable.
  • Recognize and communicate patient or family concerns promptly and appropriately.

Qualifications

  • Current Montana Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a medical setting such as physician practice or hospital preferred.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Knowledge of medical office equipment, sterile technique, and clinical instrumentation preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism and diplomacy in all interactions.
  • Proficient computer skills with ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and learn new software systems.
