The pay range for the co-op student role will reflect factors such as the candidate's experience, academic level, and the specific skillset required for the role.

Loblaw has adopted the following hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues can work remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office (to be determined by each business unit).

As a Product Designer Co-op, you’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience shaping the future of online shopping for millions of Canadians. You’ll work closely with a team of designers who are passionate about user-centered design and learn how to collaborate with product managers, researchers, and developers to bring intuitive and accessible digital experiences to life.

What you’ll do

  • Learn to frame design problems by assisting in research, discovery activities, and helping document user and business needs.

  • Practice interaction design by supporting the creation of user flows, wireframes, and prototypes with guidance from experienced designers.

  • Gain exposure to visual design by contributing to high-fidelity screens and learning how to apply brand guidelines and design systems.

  • Work with design systems by organizing and maintaining design assets, and learning how consistent patterns improve scalability.

  • Support user research and testing by helping run usability sessions, compiling feedback, and documenting insights.

  • Participate in design critiques and workshops to practice presenting your work, receiving feedback, and improving your design thinking.

  • Learn about inclusive design by ensuring accessibility is considered in every project.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Currently enrolled in a design-related program (e.g., interaction design, product design, human-computer interaction, graphic design).

  • A portfolio (academic, personal, or professional) that shows your potential in UX and UI design.

  • Familiarity with design tools such as Figma or Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Interest in user-centered design practices, accessibility, and inclusive design.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
