Position Summary : Ensure site EHS program compliance with laws & regulations and corporate requirements. Seek solutions to continuously improve EHS performance and build a safe, healthy and environmental working culture within the site.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities: 

  • Establish and improve EHS systems and procedures within the organization. 
  • Lead EHS programs on the site and ensure annual action plans are developed by all departments with the aim of continuous improvement. 
  • Manage EHS performance and timely report to plant management team about the running status. Provide constructive solutions on EHS performance continuous improvement. 
  • Acknowledge of latest EHS laws and regulations, prepare statutory and company applications and reports as required by regulators and corporation. Provide training to employees on EHS laws and regulations.
  • Contribute to the development of corporate policy by participating in teams and network meetings set up by corporate.
  • Be responsible for handling inspections from authorities and seek solutions to ensure compliance. 
  • Be responsible for the internal and external audits and ensure compliance. 
  • Ensure an effective EHS training program are carried out for all staffs. 
  • Lead team undertaking major risk assessment studies for new or changed processes, organize PHA assessment, ensure all corrective actions are tracked and implemented in a timely manner.
  • Lead investigations for incidents and be responsible for investigation reports. 
  • Be a security coordinator of the plant. Ensure security management of business secrets of the site.
  • Control the budgets for the different sections of the EHS and seek opportunities to make cost savings. 
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and outside agencies


Education and Experience Requirements : 

  • BA and above, Equivalent to a Process or Chemical Engineering Degree or Environmental Technology Degree. 
  • Managerial, interpersonal, leadership and communication skills  
  • Good command of written and oral English 
    • Running meetings, networking, influencing, and coaching
  • Presenting information, briefing others, producing concise reports
  • Familiar with China EHS regulations
  • Ability to perform the safety work duties entrusted by the safety work laws and regulations; No serious violation of the relevant state laws and regulations on production safety; No criminal punishment or termination due to production safety accident occurs due to failure to perform the statutory duty of production safety. 
  • Obtain the safety qualification certificate for the Responsible Person in the hazardous chemical production and operation unit.

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience of EHS management of continuous high hazard plant in related petrochemical or polymer industry
  • Ability to apply knowledge of EHS systems, procedures, and processes
  • General Knowledge of plant engineering standards and procedures 
  • Specialized knowledge of continuous high hazard plant operations 
  • Management and coaching/development of EHS supports team 


Physical Requirements: Good general health and ability to travel 


Work Environment:

  • Administrative Office Building
  • All Areas of the Livent ZJG Facility  
  • In-plant: Exposure to chemicals, raw materials and finished products necessary in the manufacture of BuLi
