At Live Nation, we’re passionate about transforming live events and creating extraordinary moments for artists, event professionals, and fans.

About the role:

We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on operations professional to join the team at The Triffid in the role of Duty Manager. Reporting to the Venue Manager, this position plays a key role in delivering safe, seamless live events while leading teams and maintaining the venue’s high operational standards.

This is a full-time role (38 hours per week) with a roster that includes nights, weekends and public holidays in line with event schedules. When the venue is not operating live events, the role reverts to standard Monday–Friday hours, providing a balance between event delivery and operational planning.

As Duty Manager, you’ll take ownership of live show delivery from start to finish, coordinating teams, managing compliance, supporting artists and promoters, and ensuring every event runs smoothly for patrons, staff and touring parties alike. If you think you have what it takes, please apply with your resume and a cover letter outlining why you’re the perfect candidate for this role and what excites you about working at The Triffid.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Live event delivery: Managing shows and functions end to end, including opening and closing the venue, tour manager check-ins, security oversight, box office coordination and patron management.
  • Team leadership: Leading, motivating and supporting casual staff and supervisors to ensure consistent service and operational excellence.
  • Training & development: Facilitating ongoing training and capability development across casual teams.
  • Operational planning: Completing pre-event checklists, risk assessments and post-event reports for allocated events.
  • Health & safety compliance: Playing an active role in the venue’s OH&S committee and ensuring all events meet safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Stock & systems management: Processing weekly stock orders, receiving deliveries, participating in stocktakes and using SwiftPOS effectively.
  • Rostering & administration: Preparing weekly staff rosters aligned with forecasts, event requirements and labour needs.
  • Stakeholder coordination: Working closely with bookings, production, security and operations teams to meet artist requirements and deliver exceptional service.

What you’ll bring:

  • Relevant experience: A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar high-volume venue or live event operations role.
  • Leadership capability: A confident, supportive leadership style with the ability to guide and motivate casual teams.
  • Strong compliance focus: A high level of commitment to health, safety and operational compliance.
  • Problem-solving mindset: The ability to remain calm, adaptable and solutions-focused in fast-paced environments.
  • Attention to detail: Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Communication skills: Clear, professional communication with staff, artists, touring parties and patrons.
  • Technical proficiency: Solid IT skills, including confidence using Word, Excel and POS systems.
  • Required certifications: Current RSA, RMLV and Approved Manager Licence, with flexibility to work nights, weekends and public holidays.

The Benefits:

  • A vibrant, music-focused workplace fostering creativity and collaboration.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
  • A flexible approach to when and where you work, designed to support balance in all aspects of life.
  • Access to concerts, events, and other entertainment perks.
  • A diverse, equitable workplace where every voice matters.
  • Comprehensive benefits, from volunteer days to wellness programs and mental health support.
