The Special Needs Inclusion & Curriculum Coordinator serves under the Morris County Family Pastor with a dotted line oversight to the Special Needs Pastor.  A full-time position, the schedule includes Sunday services and a minimum of two in-person office days, which include Tuesday and Thursday meetings at our central office in Parsippany, totaling 40 hours.


Responsibilities


Buddy Program/Sunday 

  • Lead the Buddy Program at the Morris Campus for your assigned phases(Nursery–PreK, MS, JV, and Registration/Guest Services).

  • Welcome and support families.

  • Set up and clean up Family spaces; keep supplies organized.

  • Lead/Attend Volunteer huddles and share the day’s vision and details.

  • Recruit, train, and encourage Buddies and Buddy Coaches.

  • Pair and schedule buddies with kids each week.  Communicate with parents and confirm weekly attendance.

  • Support and guide buddies in the use of adaptive materials, provide feedback and training; Identify kids who need extra support or adaptive curriculum.

  • Work with the campus family team to solve pairing or behavior challenges and foster inclusion.


Curriculum 

  • Create adaptive materials for Elementary and Middle School; provide feedback for inclusion tips and general curriculum in regards to inclusion

  • Gather and monitor feedback from Staff and Volunteers to ensure the adaptive curriculum is effectively being implemented, to improve adaptive curriculum

  • Weekly review curriculum and adaptive elements in preparation for Sunday

  • Attend curriculum meetings to share ideas and support inclusion; present adaptive curriculum


Other Responsibilities 

  • Attend Meetings:  System, Campus, Staff, 1:1 etc

  • Support & Attend Campus and Church-Wide Special Needs events & training

  • Support Campus Events as requested by manager

  • Care for Volunteers and Families


Volunteers (Buddy Specific) 

  • Recruit - Identify/approach interested individuals and process interest forms, working through the role-specific recruiting and selection process

  • Retain - Regular communication (through email, text, huddles and team meetings), maintain and communicate the schedule, foster community within and provide spiritual care to the team members

  • Reward - Appreciate and celebrate team members regularly


Time Commitment 

  • Sundays - all 3 services (attend 1 each week)

  • Full Time Staff role (40 hours) Tuesday and Thursday office presence

  • Regular connecting time with buddies and families

  • Respite events and other staff required events at Liquid


Qualifications


  • Two years of serving at Liquid (Buddy Preferred)

  • Experience with special education curriculum or adaptive curriculum

  • Schedule - Sunday-Thursday schedule (occasional weekends with special events); Major Holidays: Christmas Eve, Easter, etc.

  • Tech Savvy - Learns quickly and can adapt to changing technology with ease, experience with Google application preferred

  • Communication - Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational and problem solving skills - Is cool under pressure

  • Relational ability - A “people” person who works well with Staff and volunteers of varying personality types.
