Responsible for coaching and training new employees in designated geographical area. Assist and support centers and patients remotely and in- person as needed. Manage intake of new patients in locations without local enteral staffing and/or locations needing additional assistance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Attends work on a regular and predictable basis.
- Assists their designated geographical area in hitting organizational goals.
- Assists locations without enteral employees.
- Oversees and implements assigned projects.
- Collaborates with local centers to grow their enteral business.
- Stays up to date on the state specific insurance guidelines in their designated geographical area.
- Provide ongoing support and education to centers within their geographical area.
- Completes timely and accurate reporting on KPIs.
- Assists centers in maintaining par levels of inventory for enteral nutrition.
- Responsible for coaching new employees and providing on going coaching, as needed, to employees.
- Travels to centers within geographical coverage area as needed for training and assistance
- Coordinates and communicates all information necessary to facilitate an admission.
- Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity according to the patient need and Lincare policy.
- Maintains current knowledge of enteral homecare techniques and relevant enteral therapy concepts.
- Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities and content of written reports.
- Gathers necessary information from referral source to ensure insurance coverage of each enteral patient. Follows up on necessary paperwork to ensure payment of services rendered.
- Maintains patient records in complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards.
- Precept newly hired Medical Nutrition Coordinators, Enteral Sales Reps and Medical Nutrition Specialists and acts as a resource as assistance or coaching is needed.
- Educate patients with relation to their enteral feeding to facilitate safe and effective use and desired care, treatment and service outcomes.
- Responsible for communication activities with patients, providers, payers, and all customer groups.
- Promote safe, effective patient and organizational environments and feeding equipment use.
- Participate in on-going education, including in-services, training, and other activities, to maintain and improve individual competence.
- Obtain, utilize, and update patient information in a confidential and secure manner for utilization in patient care applications.
- Recognize and implement infection control practices that reduce the risk of infections in patients and organizational staff.
- Drives to admit, deliver and pickup such items as enteral formula, feeding pump(s), IV poles, related feeding supplies to patient's home or place of business.
- Listens to and resolves service complaints appropriate to scope of practice.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job acts as a group leader.
Qualifications
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, accounting software, internet and e-mail communications.
- Active Driver's License
Education and Experience:
- Has three or more years of an appropriate level of experience in health care, preferably in-home care, preferred.
- Experience/Education in Dietetics, Nutrition, Home Health or Nursing strongly preferred
- Two years of experience as a LPN, DTR, or CNA preferred
- Previous supervisor or managerial experience preferred
- Specific experience in enteral preferred
- Must have excellent human relations skills to interface with doctors, other referral sources and patients.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties for this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk to hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee may frequently lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and may occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
