About this role
- Operate and monitor production machines according to established procedures and safety standards.
- Perform regular quality checks on products to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality requirements.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe work environment at all times.
- Make adjustments to machine settings and controls when necessary, depending on facility-specific processes and requirements, to maintain product quality and production flow.
- Conduct preventative maintenance (PM), total productive maintenance (TPM), and cleaning of equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Report any safety concerns, equipment malfunctions or production issues to the Production Supervisor or designate promptly.
- Document production data and maintain accurate records of machine output and performance.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and assist with troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and equipment optimization via lean suggestions.
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in machine operation is an asset.
- 1-2 years of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, work orders, and blueprints is an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate quality checks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
