The Opportunity:

Are you an experienced and detail-orientated Medical Biller specializing in Durable Medical Equipment (DME)? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and support our US healthcare client based on the East Coast. In this position, you’ll work closely with Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) to ensure timely and accurate submission of claims, with all the necessary paperwork in place. This position is remote and offers you the flexibility of working from home.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Receive and generate requests from SNFs for medical equipment and supplies
• Review medical records to verify payer qualifications
• Create and send invoices to facilities and insurance companies and process orders
• Ensure all equipment and accessories are accurately coded
• Submit claims with necessary authorization paperwork
• Verify patient eligibility for insurance coverage
• Follow up on physician's orders to complete billing
• Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurance
• Manage assigned accounts and track equipment
• Ensure HIPAA compliance in all billing processes
• Diagnose universal medical codes for accurate medical records
• Prepare and submit claims via the e-billing system
• Provide required medical documentation to insurance companies
• Pre-certify medical visits and follow up on status

To succeed in this role you will need:

• Minimum of 2 years of DME billing experience with Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and commercial insurances
• Proficient in CMNs (Certificate of Medical Necessity), pre-billing, and insurance verification
• Experienced in medical billing via electronic medical record (EMR) systems - working knowledge of Easy Claims and Claims MD would be advantageous
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional eye for detail and fantastic key-boarding skills
• Knowledge of medical equipment and supplies (e.g., feeding tubes, feeding pumps, trachea) preferred
• Strong understanding of PPO insurance and Medicare
• Proficient in EOBS and CPT codes
• Knowledgeable in ICD-10 coding guidelines and medical terminology

Service Fee:

Industry standards applicable to the state depending on work experience and level of expertise.

Hours:

US Eastern Standard Time (EST) - Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
