POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Manager of Outpatient Clinical Services oversees the daily operation, integrity, and performance of the outpatient clinic. This position provides limited direct clinical services, supervises clinical staff, coordinates multidisciplinary programs, leads community and interagency partnerships, monitors productivity and outcomes, and ensures compliance with all regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards. This role represents the next level above Outpatient Therapist II, carrying increased responsibility for leadership, clinic-wide decision-making, program development, quality assurance, and operational oversight while maintaining a portion of direct client service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outpatient Clinic Leadership & Operations
Oversee clinical operations of the clinic, ensuring smooth workflow, service delivery, and adherence to agency policies.
Monitor revenues, expenses, service trends, productivity, caseload distribution, documentation timeliness, and clinical outcomes.
Ensure the clinic and staff are compliant with federal, state, ethical, organizational standards, service requirements, evidence-based practices, and documentation standards.
Support the development and monitoring of clinic budgets in partnership with supervisory leadership.
Recommend, implement, and refine systems or processes that improve efficiency, clinical quality, customer service, and revenue generation.
Work collaboratively with directors, support staff, and practice managers to maintain professional, organized, and client-centered clinic environments.
Ensure appropriate and timely communication of BH and organizational information to clinical staff.
Be available for on-call calls, questions, concerns, issues, or evaluations as they arise/as needed.
Clinical Oversight & Staff Support
Provide direct supervision, consultation, and performance feedback to all clinical staff within the clinic.
Assign cases, coordinate schedules, review documentation, and ensure adherence to clinical standards.
Conduct performance evaluations annually or as needed.
Provide training, coaching, and professional development for therapists and associated staff.
Direct Clinical Services
Provide evaluations, diagnostic assessments, crisis intervention, and outpatient psychotherapy (individual, family, group, or collateral).
Maintain a reduced but active caseload consistent with leadership responsibilities.
Provide consultation and education to community agencies, law enforcement, schools, businesses, and other partners.
Program Coordination & Community Relations
Coordinate clinical services, dual-diagnosis support, and other assigned programs provided through the clinic.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with agencies including but not limited to school systems, justice systems, hospitals, DCBS and other community stakeholders.
Oversee clinical program integration across departments (e.g., crisis services, school-based services, case management) and support community engagement efforts such as outreach, marketing, and program visibility initiatives.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Conduct regular documentation reviews, chart audits, and clinical quality checks.
Provide feedback, corrective action, and coaching to ensure compliance with agency, payer, and regulatory standards.
Work proactively to address consumer and clinician concerns.
Promote adherence to agency core values, ethical practice, and trauma-informed service delivery.
Other Duties
Attend meetings, leadership trainings, conferences, and organizational activities as assigned.
Serve on committees or project teams as needed.
Perform additional duties assigned by the Director of Clinical Services
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field from an accredited university and five years of clinical experience.
Fully licensed clinician in Kentucky (LCSW, LPCC, LMFT, LPP, or equivalent).
Must meet QMHP requirements.
State-approved supervision approval strongly preferred.
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
Must pass Criminal Record Check and Sexual Offender Registry check.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn EHR systems.
Ability to work flexible hours as required for supervision, crisis needs, or community engagement
JOB REQUIREMENTS / EXPECTATIONS:
Ability to sit for extended time for meetings, documentation, and clinical services.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move within clinic and community settings.
Ability travel across regional sites when assigned.
Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to all regulatory and ethical standards.
Success will be evaluated based on overall clinic performance, staff development, documentation compliance, client outcomes, leadership effectiveness, and alignment with organizational goals
Must participate in regional on-call schedule rotation.
Must be available to be contacted outside of working time as needed
