The Client Engagement Specialist serves as a vital link between clients and services, ensuring seamless access to care and promoting successful engagement throughout the treatment process. This position provides essential support for client retention and operational efficiency by managing referrals, addressing barriers to attendance, and ensuring completion of all required clinical and administrative processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate internal and external referrals by assisting clients with completing necessary paperwork and understanding next steps in the referral process
Provide hands-on support by accompanying clients to appointments or departments within the facility to ensure successful connection to services
Identify and locate available providers for walk-in clients or when urgent scheduling needs arise
Support clients in completing initial intake paperwork and ongoing required documentation, providing assistance with forms as needed
Conduct outreach to clients following missed appointments to understand barriers and provide support
Collaborate with clients to problem-solve obstacles to treatment attendance and develop strategies for maintaining future appointments
Support clients in navigating the treatment process and connecting with appropriate resources
Build rapport with clients to promote engagement and reduce attrition from services
Collaborate with other team members to ensure all clients complete required clinical screenings
Monitor compliance with screening requirements and follow up with clients and clinical staff as needed
Verify that treatment plans are current and properly signed by clients and clinicians
Maintain accurate records of completed screenings and assessments in the electronic health record system
Assist with tasks that support smooth daily operations and client flow
Complete special projects and assignments that enhance service delivery and organizational efficiency
Support quality improvement initiatives and data collection activities
JOB REQUIREMENTS / EXPECTATIONS:
Office-base work setting, sitting, standing and walking required
Minimal work-related travel required. Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.
Must pass a Criminal Record Check
Must present proof of a recent (less than 1-year-old) TB skin test OR willing to complete a TB test upon hire.
The applicant hired into this role will be evaluated against company and department goals, objectives, and performance factors annually
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent required with a preference for prior work in a human services field
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to engage diverse client populations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and sound judgment
Proficiency with computer systems and electronic health record platforms
Experience in a behavioral health treatment setting and in an EHR preferred.
