Job Summary 

A Systems Analyst Identifies opportunities for business process improvements using information technologies. Provides technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to user departments in evaluating, selecting, installing, and supporting automated information systems. Assists in analyzing, specifying, reviewing, and implementing a total hospital information system. Responsible for managing telephone system and installation and maintenance of network equipment. Responsible for planning and service associated with PCs and peripherals, printers, phone system, wireless phone system, cable plant management, and Nurse Call.

Frye Regional Medical Center, located in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina is a 355-bed acute care hospital, 81-bed Behavioral Health facility and more than 70 primary and specialty care providers.

Essential Functions

To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation. 

  • Analyzes business processes and data to identify opportunities to automate and/or improve existing processes using information technology.

  • Responsible for managing telephone system. 

  • Provides telephone service to internal and external customers to ensure that telecommunication needs are met.

  • Provides installation and maintenance for all in-house PCs, printers, scanners, network components, mobile carts, and time clocks.

  • Manages automated systems to include implementation, vendor coordination, interfacing to other systems, problem identification and tracking, custom reporting, conversion issues, user training and systems review and maintenance.

  • Maintains and applies knowledge of financial, clinical and office automated applications in computer systems.

  • Performs needs analysis by department to determine appropriate levels and degrees of computer system automation.

  • Provides application and system level support.

  • Provides hardware support as needed.

  • Serves as a consultant to management to provide decision support for initiatives, policies and procedures.

  • Serves as key customer contact for inquiries and resolution of customer issues.

Minimum Education

  • Minimum associate degree or equivalent in Electronics.

  • Prefer 3-4 years electronic repair experience with PCs and PC based equipment.

  • Vendor-specific training required for supported hardware devices.

  • Two years’ recent experience in a hospital information systems department.

  • Experience in evaluating, selecting, and/or installing automated information systems.

  • Prefer experience with multiple systems running on various platforms.
