Supports safe, timely, and accurate medication distribution under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Prepares patient drug orders, restocks medications and automated dispensing cabinets, manages returns, and assists with inventory and order processing in accordance with hospital policies and state regulations.
Essential FunctionsAdheres to safety, security, and controlled substance handling procedures. Maintains accurate documentation and supports medication-use quality and compliance initiatives. Works collaboratively with pharmacists, nursing, and materials management to ensure medication availability and timely patient care.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesEducation: High school diploma or GED.
Registration: Registered as a pharmacy technician with the State Board of Pharmacy as required by state regulations.
Certification: Pharmacy Technician Certification as required by state regulations.
Skills: Accuracy and attention to detail; ability to follow written/verbal instructions; familiarity with automated dispensing systems and inventory workflows; dependable communication and teamwork; basic computer proficiency.
