AssessMed has been facilitating comprehensive, unbiased, objective, and evidence-based medical assessments and file reviews since 1991. AssessMed has a large network of experienced medical professionals that provide credible and defensible medical evaluations for all types of claims. Reports are developed using the best evidence and current medical best practices. Evaluations are often focused on the evaluee’s ability to return to work or perform daily living activities.

AssessMed is an IME service provider, not a rehabilitation or treatment provider. Evaluations will recommend treatment options, but—as an unbiased provider—we will not recommend specific facilities, clinics, or doctors.

About Quality Assurance Coordinator

This role is essential for reviewing, editing, and ensuring the accuracy of medical assessment reports. A Quality Assurance Coordinators' goal is to produce clear, accurate, and professional IME reports that complies with current regulations, as well as AssessMed's standards.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Review and evaluate medical assessment reports to ensure continuity, consistency, accuracy, spelling, grammar and compliance with current regulations.
  • Conduct thorough quality assurance checks on medical documentation, including medical histories, diagnostic test results, and treatment plans.
  • Identify discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies in medical assessments and provide timely feedback to assessors for correction.
  • Collaborate with assessors, to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide training and support to assessors on quality assurance procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Ensure accurate report timelines are recorded
  • Ensure reports are sent to the client on time
  • Ensure the timely follow-up and tracking of all QA statuses and reports
  • Follow QA protocols for releasing and saving reports
  • Offer exceptional customer service when responding to client queries and/or explaining report discrepancies
  • Identify issues that will impact on service standards and rectify or escalate those issues
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in disability‑related fields or programs such as short‑term disability, long‑term disability, workers’ compensation, leave management, and workplace accommodations is strongly preferred.
  • 1-2 years work experience in medical clinic. / hospital or insurance office
  • French/English fluency ability to communicate professionally (oral and written) 
  • Action-oriented, highly organized, results-oriented, independent problem solver with demonstrated clinical, medical legal assessment and/or adjudication experience
  • Detailed familiarity with the current and prior auto insurance legislation, arbitration and associated legal decisions.
  • Solid command of the English language and demonstrated excellent communication skills
  • Has working knowledge of MS Word and Excel and the ability to learn and navigate new system
  • Flexible and team-oriented
