About this role

Position Summary

The Upholstery Technician is responsible for cleaning, preparing, sewing, and installing various pads and covers to be utilized within Life Time facilities.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage various pads for upholstery covers, remove staples and old pad covers from in stock inventory of fitness equipment pads, gym wall pads and pool lounge chair pads

  • Sew diaper wraps, quad wraps, and standard wraps

  • Box up completed orders to be shipped to Life Time facilities

  • Maintain and inventory location supplies, materials and equipment

Minimum Required Qualifications   

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • CPR/AED certification required within 30 days of hire

  • 3-5 years of experience

  • Ability to operate basic machinery and tools

  • Ability to multitask and learn quickly

  • Awareness of potential injuries and ability to handle emergencies

  • Ability to measure, pattern, cut and install vinyl covers

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs

  • Ability to take and fulfill orders in the specified time frame.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ experience using a commercial sewing machine.

  • Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Excel
