Forklift Operator

About the role

Based at our InfraBuild Recycling Gillman site, the Forklift Operator will perform a range of operating duties within the metal recycling yard.  This is a permanent day shift role with hours from 7:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Pay rate - $32.74 per hour + super + regular overtime of 1.5 hours per day and occasional Saturday’s.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Loading and unloading trucks
• Operating forklifts and performing manual handling tasks
• Maintaining cleanliness in the yard and operational areas
• Conducting daily checks on mobile plant
• Adhering to safety procedures at all times

Skills and experience:

• Forklift licence is essential
• Experience operating an excavator, desirable
• Experience in scrap recycling, construction or manufacturing is highly advantageous
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced yard environment
• A positive mindset with a general willingness to learn
• Passion for working as part of a collaborative team

InfraBuild is Australia’s leading integrated steel manufacturing, distribution and recycling business, making steel using our electric arc furnaces.
