The proofreader ensures the accuracy, clarity, and compliance of all claims documentation by thoroughly reviewing and correcting materials. This role supports effective decision‑making and strengthens the efficiency and professionalism of the Claims department by delivering error‑free, empathetic, and client‑focused communications. By guaranteeing clear and impactful messaging, the proofreader plays a critical part in enhancing the overall client experience.
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Arts (Literature), Marketing, Communication, or Education (English focus).
3–5 years’ experience in proofreading, editing, technical communication reviews, or quality assurance.
Document Review: Proofread letters, reports, and claims documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and technical accuracy.
Quality Assurance: Elevate internal document standards and streamline proofreading processes.
Collaboration: Partner with claims assessors and team members to refine unclear content and align communications with company standards.
Client Communication: Guarantee that all client-facing documents are empathetic, clear, and jargon-free, especially in sensitive cases.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to company guidelines, industry standards, and risk policies.
Continuous Improvement: Update proofreading processes to reflect evolving regulations and terminology.
Feedback: Provide constructive input to content creators to improve overall communication quality.
Advanced mastery of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
Ability to ensure clarity, consistency, and impact in written communication.
Familiarity with technical insurance language.
Skilled in proofreading tools beyond automated spellcheck.
Proficiency in MS Office.
Technical knowledge of claims handling (advantageous).
