OVERVIEW:

Summer interns will complete a 10-week internship located full-time on site in Middletown, CT.  Liberty Bank is proud to host a dynamic and diverse internship program designed to cultivate the next generation of banking and finance professionals. Through this immersive internship, participants will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals, contribute to real world projects and develop essential skills that will prepare them for successful careers in the financial services industry and beyond!

 

SUMMARY OF THE JOB:

 

As the Technology Intern, you will directly support technology innovation initiatives and the transformation of IT operations across the organization. Working under the guidance of senior technology leaders, you will research emerging tech trends, such as Software Defined Networking and advanced Cloud practices, to assess their potential impact on the bank’s infrastructure and operational efficiency. You will play a key role in developing strategic roadmaps, piloting new technologies, and ensuring that technical architectures align with 2026 business goals for an improved consumer experience.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Technology Research & Innovation: Analyze industry reports and market trends to identify cutting-edge technologies that can provide a competitive edge within our infrastructure and for the bank.
  • Strategic Roadmapping: Assist in the development and refinement of IT strategic roadmaps and operating models to drive technology transformation.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a bridge between IT teams and various business units to ensure technology plans are aligned with cross-functional strategic priorities.
  • Network Evolution: Support the implementation of enterprise-level network and cloud capabilities.
  • Reporting & Presentation: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for executive leadership summarizing research findings, project statuses, and integration performance metrics.
  • Standards & Governance: Help incorporate and document domain standards and best practices, specifically focusing on building secure-by-design systems and AI governance frameworks.
  •  Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.  Preferred candidates to be majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • A solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, software development lifecycle, and system architecture.
  • Familiarity with relevant programming languages and technologies (e.g., , operating systems, networking technologies, , , cloud platforms like Azure).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Proven critical thinking skills
  • Strong organizational skills

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • General Office Equipment
  • Keyboard Dexterity
  • Lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs.  
  • Ability to travel.
