This Nutrition Services team member communicates knowledgably to patients on modified diet guidelines, which includes reasons why a patient may be on a diet order, foods allowed and not allowed for each diet, and assisting the patient with making accurate and acceptable food selections. Serves as a departmental liaison between patients and the Nutrition Services Department to ensure individualized and appropriate patient and guest meal selections. They are tasked with communicating and partnering both effectively and efficiently with patient care staff pertaining to the accuracy of current patient diet information.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: 1 Year of past customer service experience.

Required Certifications/Licensure: None.
Required Training: Knowledge of and experience with the administration of modified diets and why they are used (Or, after in-house training, must be able to demonstrate proficient knowledge of therapeutic diets in order to educate and guide patients through the meal selection process);
Knowledge of Cbord and/or Epic systems;
Medical Terminology training and/or experience;
Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills, to include conflict resolution;
Must have superior customer service skills to allow for effective communication and service via the telephone;
Demonstrates basic mathematical competency to determine measurements, etc.;
Proficient Computer skills (Must have mid to proficient level in navigating through Windows-based applications);
Demonstrates good problem solving and good judgment.
