The HR Site Lead partners with Distribution Center leaders to create a positive and engaging workplace. In this role, you will be the hands-on generalist in human resource related operations to include staffing, training, labor relations, employee relations and strategic areas including employee engagement, talent development, and succession planning. You will report to the Sr HR Director, Distribution & Logistics. This is a fixed-term position expected to last approximately 14 months, with the potential for extension based on business needs.

About the Job

  • Collaborate with distribution center leaders to identify and deploy creative and engaging workforce and talent solutions; understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, engagement, and succession planning, with a focus on DE&I

  • Provide support to management and other staff; investigate allegations and guide implementation of solutions where relevant

  • Manage and support the talent acquisition process, which will include hourly recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills required for openings

  • Partner with talent acquisition on hiring process for salaried openings

  • Analyse trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure we attract and retain top talent

  • Use learning and development programs that provide internal development opportunities for employees; create and facilitate relevant training to business partners and related groups

  • Represent organization when engaging with employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations

  • Work with cross-functional partners to support leaves, payroll and benefits of distribution center employees

  • Maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance; mitigate legal risks and ensures regulatory compliance. Partner with Employment Counsel as needed/required 

  • Partner with peer HRBP's and COE to deliver seamless support to the organization

  • Advocate the organizational values and build accountability for supporting a respectful, inclusive workplace culture that represents the LS&Co. values

  • This role is onsite approximately 5 days per week

About You

  • 5 years' minimum experience in a distribution center environment or similar, lives the LS&Co. values of empathy, originality, integrity and courage

  • Experience operating in a union environment, including compliance with collective bargaining agreements, grievance resolution and negotiations

  • Trusted adviser and partner to leaders at all levels

  • Demonstrated ability to build positive employee relations

  • Strong relationship buildersolution-oriented, team player

  • CHRP, CPHR preferred
