We are seeking a skilled Email Security Engineer to enhance the security, resilience, and reliability of our email environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing, managing, and optimizing email security solutions, with a preference for hands-on expertise in Proofpoint. This role will work closely with Security Operations, IT Infrastructure, and Incident Response teams to defend against phishing, spam, malware, and advanced email-borne threats.

About the Job 

• Design, implement, and manage email security technologies and policies.

• Administer, configure, and optimize Proofpoint Email Protection, TAP, and related modules (preferred).

• Monitor email security alerts, analyze suspicious messages, and support threat detection and response.

• Develop and maintain policies for anti-phishing, anti-spam, DLP, and inbound/outbound mail hygiene.

• Partner with Identity & Access Management and IT teams to enforce secure email authentication (DMARC, SPF, DKIM).

• Perform tuning and configuration updates to improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives.

• Support incident response activities for email-based threats, including investigations and remediation.

• Provide subject matter expertise on secure email architecture, best practices, and user awareness.

• Collaborate on security automation and reporting initiatives using scripting or integration tools.

• Maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and email security standards.

About You 

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

• 3–5+ years of experience in email security engineering or a related cybersecurity role.

• Preferred hands-on experience with Proofpoint Email Protection and TAP.

• Strong understanding of email infrastructure, mail flow, SMTP, DNS, and email authentication (DMARC, SPF, DKIM).

• Experience investigating phishing incidents, malicious attachments, and email-based attack patterns.

• Familiarity with secure email gateways (SEGs), cloud email security, or Microsoft 365 email protection features.

• Knowledge of SIEM tools, threat intelligence, and incident response processes.

• Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• Relevant certifications are a plus (Proofpoint Certified Administrator, Microsoft SC-200, CompTIA CySA+, etc.).
