Job Summary

As a leading supplier of infrared (IR) imaging, DRS NIS - Texas is seeking a process engineering technician who will be responsible for supporting Yield and Inspection Processes used to manufacture IR materials.  Responsibilites will include process and equipment validation, material disposition, process development, and process troubleshooting.  This position is critical to success of DRS IR imaging products.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for cleanroom processes
  • Audit processes and perform experiments in a Class 100 cleanroom or lab
  • Perform equipment setup and troubleshooting
  • Evaluate non-conforming material for disposition utilizing microscope inspection and other metrology
  • Interpret process flow Instructions and other written or verbal instructions to process or support processing parts
  • Create and edit process documentation and product routings using change management systems
  • Execute hands-on processing and metrology tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education:  Associates Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience:  5+ Years
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Computer literate and skilled in the use of MS Office
  • Ability and desire to perform hands-on activities including material processing and equipment set up
  • Able to work in class 100 cleanroom environment
  • Able to perform inspections with laboratory microscope
  • Able to safely work with flammable, corrosive, and caustic chemicals
  • Able to work under minimal supervision

DESIRED SKILLS 

  • Experience using SEM and EDX strongly desired
  • Yield enhancement or process troubleshooting experience
  • Experience solving problems and improving processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in semiconductor processing
  • Previous experience with defect inspection and tracking
  • Experience using microscopes and other inspection or metrology tools

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
