About the Role

As a Sr Product Manager, Marketplace, you will own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for the products and platforms that power LendingClub’s capital markets operations and institutional investor experience.

A core focus of this role is building data-rich, self-service tools and insights that enable investors and internal stakeholders to efficiently onboard, deploy capital, monitor portfolio performance, and manage ongoing capital programs with confidence and transparency.

LendingClub operates a marketplace bank model, combining the stability and regulatory foundation of a bank with the flexibility of a multi-channel capital marketplace. As a result, this role sits at the intersection of bank balance sheet strategy, marketplace funding, investor partnerships, and operational execution, translating complex financial, operational, and compliance requirements into scalable product solutions.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role for a product leader who thrives in complex, regulated environments, brings strong operational empathy, and can clearly articulate business value to drive cross-functional alignment.

What You'll Do

Capital Markets Product Strategy & Ownership

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for capital markets platforms, tools, and workflows

  • Build products that support capital deployment, loan sales execution, investor onboarding, portfolio management, and performance reporting

  • Partner closely with Capital Markets and Finance leaders to align product priorities with business strategy, market conditions, and balance sheet objectives

Investor Self-Service Tools & Data Insights

  • Lead the development of investor-facing self-service tools, dashboards, and workflows that support

    • Investor onboarding and program configuration

    • Capital allocation and deployment visibility

    • Portfolio performance monitoring and reporting

    • Ongoing program and lifecycle management

  • Deliver accurate, transparent, and timely data insights that build investor trust while reducing manual operational effort

  • Define scalable analytics and reporting experiences that allow investors to independently access key metrics without reliance on bespoke processes

  • Balance investor transparency with bank-grade controls, compliance, and data governance requirements

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

  • Develop a deep understanding of capital markets operational workflows and pain points across internal teams

  • Design solutions that reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, increase speed, and lower operational and compliance risk

  • Drive automation and platform capabilities that scale with LendingClub’s marketplace and bank growth

AI-Enabled Product Development

  • Leverage AI tools and modern product tooling to accelerate discovery, ideation, and execution

  • Use AI-assisted prototyping to quickly test workflows, dashboards, and data visualizations before committing engineering resources

  • Partner with Engineering and Data teams to explore AI-driven insights, forecasting, and decision-support capabilities for investors and internal capital planning

Stakeholder Leadership & Execution

  • Serve as a trusted product partner to Capital Markets, Risk, Finance, Operations, Legal/Compliance, Engineering, and Design teams

  • Clearly articulate business goals, tradeoffs, and value propositions to drive cross-functional alignment and informed decision-making

  • Translate strategy into clear requirements, success metrics, and delivery plans in an agile development environment

  • Define and track KPIs that measure product impact across investor adoption, operational efficiency, scalability, and financial outcomes

About You

  • 6+ years of product management experience, ideally in fintech, banking, capital markets, or other regulated industries

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; or equivalent work experience

  • Proven experience owning complex, data-heavy, and workflow-driven products end-to-end

  • Strong understanding of capital markets concepts such as loan sales, portfolio management, funding structures, or institutional investor operations

  • Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency through thoughtful product design and automation

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior business, technical, and compliance partners

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a track record of clearly articulating business value and product strategy

Preferred Skills

  • Experience building investor-facing or B2B self-service platforms, analytics, or reporting tools

  • Familiarity with marketplace lending or bank balance sheet models

  • Hands-on experience using AI tools for product discovery, prototyping, or analysis

  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, high-stakes environments while balancing speed, risk, and regulatory constraints

  • Experience building internal tools or platforms that support scaled financial operations

Work Location
San Francisco

The above locations are eligible offices for this role. The locations have been determined to foster in-person collaboration with this role’s team or the related business lines. We utilize a hybrid work model, and our teams are in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. In-person attendance is essential for this role’s success, and remote placement will not be considered. LendingClub offers relocation, based on actual job level.

Time Zone Requirements
Primarily PT

While the position will primarily work local hours, LendingClub is headquartered in Pacific Time and our ideal candidate will be flexible working across time zones when necessary.

Travel Requirements
As needed travel to LendingClub offices and/or other locations, as needed.

Compensation
The target base salary range for this position is 186,000-207,000. The base salary of the role will be determined by job-related knowledge, experience, education, skills, and location. Base salary is just one part of LendingClub’s Total Rewards package. You may also be eligible for long-term awards (equity) and an annual bonus (which is based on company performance, employee performance and eligible earnings).
