About this role

The Air Traffic Training Team within Leidos Homeland sector is seeking a Training Intern that will support the Training Development Team in the design, update, and delivery of aviation-related training materials supporting air traffic control systems and operational environments. The intern will leverage foundational aviation knowledge to assist with course development, content validation, and coordination activities while gaining hands-on experience in instructional systems design and training programs.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of training materials related to aviation systems, procedures, and operations.
  • Support the modular organization of training content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with learning objectives.
  • Assist in updating training content to reflect software, hardware, or procedural changes affecting aviation systems.
  • Support the Training Team in preparing instructional aids, visuals, handouts, and reference materials.
  • Participate in content reviews, incorporating feedback from trainers, SMEs, and government stakeholders.
  • Assist with course deployment activities, including document version control, formatting, and release coordination.
  • Conduct basic research on aviation concepts, system updates, or operational procedures as needed.
  • Support administrative and coordination tasks related to training development and delivery.

Basic:

  • Currently enrolled in an aviation-related program (e.g., Aeronautical Science, Aviation Management, Air Traffic Control, Aviation Safety, or related field) at an accredited university/college.
  • Foundational understanding of aviation operations, airspace, and aviation terminology.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with FAA systems, procedures, or training environments.
  • Exposure to instructional design, technical writing, or training development concepts.
  • Experience reviewing technical or procedural documentation.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to evolving requirements and timelines.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
