About this role

Leidos is seeking a talented Software IPT Lead Engineer that is accountable for the creation and maintenance of a Software Development Roadmap and IMS that aligns with program SW needs and milestones, reflects the dependences need to ensure that SW is delivered in accordance with program milestones, test events and that SW and Lab Hardware meets expectations needed for program integration and testing.

The Software IPT Lead is accountable and responsible for development of the software technical baseline that includes quarterly releases and deliveries to the customer while providing increasing capability to meet the program integration milestones. This role also includes a Display and Control Study for UX and GUI definitions as directed by the customer.

Primary Responsibilities

This role is part of an engineering matrix organization that supports many programs that span business areas. Responsibilities include contributing to and mentoring software development teams during the software development process to support a variety of customers, often with competing requirements.

The candidate must be comfortable in a fast-paced working environment and be a motivated independent learner. The candidate must be highly organized and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.

  • Candidate must have at least 12 years of professional software development experience or 10 years with a Master’s.

  • Candidate must have experience in creating and presenting weekly status reports and charts on the progression of SW development in weekly customer meetings.  Also need to provide monthly input to the customer and hold weekly staff meetings to flow down programmatic and technical information from leadership staff meetings.

  • Candidate must have experience in analyzing and developing requirements, designing and maintaining software products, and implementing software designs. Candidate must be able to parse ambiguous requirements and translate into team direction and guidance.

  • Candidate must have experience in desktop software development activities. Candidate must have experience in software development, data structures, object-oriented design, and effective unit test. Candidate must have experience with multiple SW Dev languages and similar scripting languages.

  • Candidate must have experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and task management.

  • Candidate must have multiple years’ experience leading/mentoring resources and SW development teams sizes of 10 or more while providing guidance to accomplish tasks/projects including tasking and staffing for the technical team to ensure budgets and objectives are achieved.

  • Candidate must have experience with software best practices such as peer reviews, automated testing, and document generation.

  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.

  • Candidate must have ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university would be considered a plus.

  • Prior Signal Processing, RF and Radar  application experience would be a plus.

  • Preferred Secret Collateral Clearance

  • Preferred in-office work for interactions with team and program leadership.

  • Prior experience interviewing or contributing to proposals is a plus.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
