
Decision Advantage Business Area within Defense at Leidos currently has an opening for a Sr. Cloud Engineer to work in our Orlando, FL office.
Our team supports the Advanced Battle Management System’s (ABMS) Digital Infrastructure (DI) Network Manager program. In this mission we support the Department of the Air Force (DAF) to field and operate the ABMS Digital Infrastructure, which is foundational in creating a unified command-and-control infrastructure connecting/ integrating sensors, data streams, and weapon systems across all domains (air, land, sea, cyber, and space). This will ultimately allow U.S. forces from all services — as well as allies and partners — to sense, make sense and act upon a vast array of data and information faster than adversaries can detect and respond to.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide Cloud Engineering support for the design, documentation, maintenance, and enhancements of solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Quickly diagnose platform or system issues impacting operation and performance. Swiftly arrive at resolutions with minimal assistance.
Ensure that hosted software, cybersecurity posture, and system operational use cases are accounted for and compliant with DoD and industry recognized security standards.
Review, evaluate, and provide technical insight on changes as part of a Change Control Board governing the cloud environment and connected systems.
Regularly brief Engineering and Leadership on prevalent efforts and roadblocks. Develop cross-team synergy across dynamic and multifaceted teams to deliver on complex tasking.
Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot automation scripts spanning multiple technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Git* CICD Pipelines, etc.
Be a primary resource for cloud-related matters in a specialized and technically diverse team.
Participate in and contribute to cross-discipline training and mentoring efforts with fellow engineers.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of experience or a Master’s Degree with 8+ years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain at least a Secret clearance during your employment.
Active Security+ CE.
Relevant cloud certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Engineer.
Have a solid grasp of scripting and coding languages such as Bash, Python, Powershell.
Experience with general Windows Server administration.
Experience with general Linux administration.
Experience with some of the various virtualization technologies (VMWare, Proxmox, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with network security protocols and best practices.
Knowledge of basic networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Ability to work in a team environment, but self-driven to complete assignments while continually developing proficiency in processes.
Strong written and verbal communications, team building and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
RedHat Certified Systems Engineer (RHCE).
Easily recognizable sense of ownership with tasks and responsibilities.
Very proficient with scripting and coding; Terraform, Ansible, Python.
Knowledge of ITIL Change & Configuration Management.
IAT Level III Certified .
