Summary
Assists with the production and distribution of food and non-food items to the patients of the facility. Assists in meal delivery and clean up to maintain cleanliness during and after meal service. Assists with delivery of carts and pick-up of carts returning to kitchen. Assists in all duties related to meal distribution.

Job Duties

• Assists in preparing such items as salads, deserts, or other nourishment.
• Delivers clean dishes and utensils to proper kitchen unit.
• Delivers late trays and other food items to patient care areas.
• Maintains tray line in a clean, neat, and orderly manner.
• Disposes of trash and garbage and relines trash barrels.
• Performs special cleaning duties as directed by the supervisor.
• Serves meals using the established standards to maintain sanitation and quality.
• Loads trays onto meal trucks.

Minimum Qualifications

• 1 year
• Ability to follow strict health and safety standards.
• Knowledge of clinical diets.
• Strong desire to actively look for ways to continuous help people.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED Must be 18 years old or older.

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
