Position Description

At a Glance

 

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Technician to join the Data Power and Control Team in Independence, OH.  As a member of our Quality Control team, your skills testing product received from our contract manufacturers enables us to offer the high-quality products that our customers rely on. You will be responsible to ensure that all product meets our specifications and quality standards.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Follow documented procedures to test incoming product and complete Technician work orders 
  • Conduct new product testing, including obtaining specifications, obtaining approval from appropriate departments, and completion of documentation 
  • Process documentation for failed product 
  • Process and document outcome of customer evaluations 
  • Process customer RMAs, including testing and documentation of all returned product 
  • Update existing procedures for new products or test equipment 
  • Program products to meet specifications, per Legrand or customer requirements 
  • Communicate highly technical material to the team simply and clearly 
  • Support the team by understanding product applications, apply and streamline Legrand processes to assure closing of opportunities and our ability to deliver products as they are needed 
  • Deliver solutions that are on time and align with customer expectations 
  • Assure high customer satisfaction that resolves technical questions, support, and needed assistance. 

Qualifications

Education: Associates degree is desired but not required.

 

Experience:  0-2 years computerized inventory systems required.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors. 
  • Basic understanding of inventory control procedures. 
  • Proficient keyboarding skills. 
  • Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision. 
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations. 
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly. 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
