Position Description

At a Glance

 

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Software QA Intern to join the WattStopper Plus Team in Markham, ON. The successful candidate will be part of the Wattstopper Plus development team and be responsible for testing the Polaris Config and Polaris Monitor user interface software. You will also have the opportunity to write software automation code and interface with and configure consumer electronics, third party devices, and other related systems.

 

What Will You Do?

  • Testing/Automation of PC and web applications for Windows, iOS and Android.
  • User interface and system testing of sophisticated building control systems.
  • Design and document manual and automated test scenarios.
  • Create, configure and manage complex test systems.
  • Execute manual and automated testing scenarios.
  • Report and manage software bugs and improvements.
  • Document SW and system functionality for internal and external use.
  • Opportunities for other related software testing and development projects.
  • Utilization of the Scrum Agile software development framework.
  • Meet critical deadlines.

Qualifications

Required Skills

 

Education:

  • Some college coursework completed.

Experience:

  • Some experience in testing SW and Web applications.
  • Some programming experience in Python, C# and/or JavaScript (React).
  • Some experience in writing test automation scripts.
  • Some experience with home automation.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Hands-on with computers, software and electronic devices.
  • Understanding of SQA methodologies and procedures.
  • Development and execution of new test scenarios.
  • Bug reporting and management experience.
  • Good debugging and troubleshooting skills.

Pay Range:

  • CAD per hour $23.00-28.00
