    Job Description

    The Client Strategy Team leads L&G’s multi-faceted client engagement efforts.  Our top priority is to be trusted partners for our clients while serving as stewards to our long-term business success.  Our client scorecard includes: 1) demonstrating our execution of investment excellence within client portfolios, 2) being client-led with a thorough understanding of client context (needs, objectives, priorities, preferences, constraints), and 3) expanding relationships with a solutions focus.  

    Client Strategy Analysts support client servicing, distribution efforts, and other broader business development initiatives.   The following roles and responsibilities must be reflective of the highest quality of client servicing and a consistent level of excellence which L&G holds its Client Strategy team members to as a top-tier asset manager. This includes embodying strategic and intuitive communication and decision making.  Analysts work alongside Associates and Strategists as part of a dedicated relationship team, gathering, analyzing, and discussing economic issues, investment markets, and our firm views.  They also need to listen and understand client objectives, their approach to decision-making, and their constraints.  They also begin to develop knowledge of our systems for monitoring investment risk and modeling different asset and derivative strategies to match client objectives.  Roles include analyzing strategies, drafting and preparing client-servicing materials, and supporting new product & client initiatives such as creating customized client reporting.

    Responsibilities:

    • Track all client correspondence/inquiries and make sure we are responding in a timely and adequate manner, reflective of the broader relationship discussions and goals. This aims to achieve coordinated, impactful, and strategic interactions.
    • Collaborate with all internal stakeholders as necessary for every client deliverable.
    • Produce quality draft presentation materials for client meetings reflective of client context, combining current Seismic information as well as custom client account information. Quality in this sense begins to reflect a thoughtfulness and awareness of the broader relationship goals and firmwide narrative and strategic goals.

    They will also maintain and enrich L&G’s internal client data model to measure and manage our client engagement.

    • Maintain essential Salesforce data objects on their clients, inclusive of contacts, clients, accounts, meeting notes, client issues, ROLs, opportunities, products, fees, tasks, and deliverables. Quality in this sense begins to reflect thinking like an owner and appreciating how all of these pieces fit together in the overall mosaic and inspiring the rest of our organization to value this critical information.
    • Develop an understanding and also support the ongoing maintenance all of our client data required for our custom solutions centralized in SIGMA. This involves keeping liability cashflows, external manager values, actual benefit payments, discount curves up to the date.

    Analysts should have a strong desire and demonstrate measurable initiative to learn the quantitative and technical aspects of our investment capabilities and hone client-facing skills.

    • Demonstrate ability to understand portfolio positioning, characteristics, and portfolio risk management metrics across all products and begin to reflect this knowledge in their work product.
    • Develop broad economic, market, investment, and client context knowledge and begin to reflect this knowledge in their work product.
    • Develop communication strategies for telling the story that meets each clients’ unique needs.
    • Develop rapport and ability to tailor our communications with clients along our client scorecard framework.

    They will also attend firm-wide training and professional development sessions.

    Additional Information

    The starting salary offer will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s education, job-related experience, skills, and abilities, geographic location, and market factors. This position is also eligible to participate in the company’s annual discretionary bonus plan.
