About this role

Legacy Oaks of Sacramento Assisted Living and Memory Care, located in Sacramento, CA is seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Director to direct the operation of our community to ensure high-quality care is being provided to the residents in our community and provide a supportive work environment for our employees.

Responsibilities of the Executive Director

  • To operate the community in a manner which will ensure company profitability by meeting all facility budget and census guidelines as set by the Licensee and Board of Directors
  • To ensure the delivery of quality care and services and ensure positive resident relations by responding promptly and appropriately to residents’ needs, requests, concerns, etc
  • To perform all marketing activities, including public relations efforts, prospective resident generation, prospective resident follow-up, direct sales, and sales monitoring to ensure the complete fill-up of the Community.
  • Ensure the facility has at least one staff member trained in First Aid and CPR on duty and on the premises at all times.
  • To perform community relations functions with particular attention to clergy, medical, legal, financial, and business communities that influence the senior market.
  • To employ, supervise, and evaluate qualified community staff in accordance with corporate personnel policies; conduct thorough reference checks; and evaluate candidates to minimize staff turnover.
  • To direct and oversee the performance of all facility staff.
  • To contract for approved services, including beauty shop, therapy, and other ancillary services; direct and evaluate contractor performance to ensure service quality.
  • To perform administrative duties, including maintaining an office that is open and staffed between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  • To promote and maintain positive relations with residents and families through regular Executive Director contact, including service plans (as applicable), dining room interaction, and appropriate resolution of resident concerns; encourage resident engagement and interaction.
  • To provide resident programs designed to promote satisfaction and enrichment, including social interaction, entertainment, arts and crafts, physical exercise, education, religious services, and community involvement.
  • To comply with all state and federal laws and regulations, as well as company policies governing resident care and facility operations.
  • To perform additional duties as assigned by the management company or Licensee, which may change based on resident needs, staffing levels, operational circumstances, and company directives.

Required Experience

  • Must have appropriate professional license (e.g., NHA, RCFE, ALF, BH, etc.) for the state in which the community operates, and the license must be in good standing.
  • Must be able to relate to elderly residents in a positive manner..
  • Must possess good marketing and public relation skills.
  • Must have experience in personnel management.
  • Must understand budgeting, financial record keeping, reporting, appropriate State and Federal regulations, and operational systems and procedures, and must be able to apply that understanding to ensure the smooth operation to the Community.

Requirements

  • RCFE certification and/or licensure as required by State.
  • Tuberculosis (TB) clearance as required by the state.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications as required by state regulations.
  • Must have 2 years of college education or at least 3 years experience providing residential care to the elderly, or equivalent education and experience approved by the Department of Social Services, either a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write in English language.

Physical Requirements

Push, pull, and lift at least of 35 pounds. Frequent transporting of residents in wheelchairs.
