Essential Responsibilities:

• Operation of a Epiroc DM45 platform drill

• Operates and understands mechanics of a top head drilling unit equipped with multi-function joy sticks and GPS on a mine site.

• Complies with all company, client, legislated safety policies and procedures of drilling in a large open pit surface mine.

• Understands the limitations of the drill rig and the performances it can safely provide.

• Detects and performs small mechanical repairs to the drill.

• Communicates effectively and professionally with other team members when needed with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

• Minimum one year surface mine drilling experience, using various drilling units.

• Would have thorough knowledge of drill patterns and the structure in which they are developed.

• MSHA p.48 metal/nonmetal ticket is required; training and support is provided to obtain or update certificate as needed. 

• Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

Work Conditions

• 5 days on with 4 days off, working 12 hour days that has the potential to alternate between a day and night shift rotation

• Overtime rates apply after 40 hours per week and are paid at time and a half   

• Living out allowance provided for those who qualify
