About the Role

We’re looking for an Estimator I that will support the planning, analysis, and development of construction estimates during the preconstruction phase of projects. This role works closely with Senior Estimators, Preconstruction Managers, and project stakeholders to assist with quantity takeoffs, scope analysis, cost modeling, and bid preparation.


Core Responsibilities

  • Preconstruction Estimating Support
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs, data gathering, and basic cost analysis for assigned scopes of work.
  • Support the preparation of estimates at various stages of design, including conceptual, schematic, and design development.
  • Assist in developing trade-level and system-level pricing under the guidance of senior preconstruction team members
  • Organize estimate inputs, assumptions, and supporting documentation in accordance with preconstruction standards.

  • Scope Review and Constructability Awareness
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to understand scope, constraints, and project requirements.
  • Support constructability analysis by identifying potential design conflicts, scope gaps, or execution considerations.
  • Assist in documenting clarifications, assumptions, and exclusions to ensure alignment across estimate packages.

  • Bid and Proposal Support 
  • Assist in compiling bid packages and solicitation materials under the direction of the preconstruction team.
  • Collect, organize, and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals for completeness and scope alignment.
  • Support bid leveling efforts by organizing pricing, scope, and proposal data.

  • Cost Modeling and Process Improvement
  • Assist in tracking historical cost data and maintaining estimating databases.
  • Support value analysis efforts by researching cost-effective alternatives and constructability-driven solutions.
  • Learn and utilize preconstruction technologies, estimating software, and internal workflows.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of preconstruction processes, tools, and documentation standards.


Work Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience or coursework.
  • 0–2 years of experience in construction, preconstruction, estimating, or a related role internships or co-op experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project delivery methods.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to learn estimating and preconstruction software.
  • Strong interest in preconstruction, cost planning, and project development. Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing preconstruction teams.
