MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As an AWS Cloud Developer Senior Principal, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our customers. You will play a crucial role via the following:

  • Provide expert knowledge while working across teams, and external customer groups to develop strategy, design solutions, and advise implementation teams during deployment
  • Build and maintain technical relationships with others in the organization and technology providers by participating in cloud technology discussions and aligning solutions with client needs
  • Provide expert communication, ensuring that managers, team members, stakeholders within the organization, and clients are kept informed of relevant trends and projects
  • Research new or alternative technologies, document findings, conduct pilots and evaluate multiple vendors, make recommendations, and develop business cases to justify the investment
  • Manage escalations. Make assessments, recommendations or provide solutions to resolve issues
  • Mentor and train staff, ensuring they are up to speed on critical processes and technologies related to the organizations’ goals and soft skills needed to succeed
  • Develop timelines for projects
  • Contribute to budgeting for and understand the financial impact of cloud technology decisions
  • Create functional requirements/specifications documents
  • Guide the selection, implementation and deployment processes for new cloud technology rollouts


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The AWS Cloud Developer Senior Principal must have:


● Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree

● Experience: 8+ years of related experience

● Required Skills:

  • Demonstratable AWS architecture experience. 
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and desired state configuration.
  • Red Hat and/or Linux experience
  • Motivated team player.   Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and requirements
  • Creativity in problem resolution.  Comfortable in a dynamic environment.

● Preferred Skills:

  • AWS certification


● Security Clearance Level: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance


● US Citizenship Required

● Location: Remote

Salary Information
The likely salary range for this position is $157,250 - $212,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
Benefits Information
Our benefits package for all US-based employees includes a variety of medical plan options, some with Health Savings Accounts, dental plan options, a vision plan, and a 401(k) plan offering the ability to contribute both pre and post-tax dollars up to the IRS annual limits and receive a company match. To encourage work/life balance, GDIT offers employees full flex work weeks where possible and a variety of paid time off plans, including vacation, sick and personal time, holidays, paid parental, military, bereavement and jury duty leave. GDIT typically provides new employees with 15 days of paid leave per calendar year to be used for vacations, personal business, and illness and an additional 10 paid holidays per year. Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees. To ensure our employees are able to protect their income, other offerings such as short and long-term disability benefits, life, accidental death and dismemberment, personal accident, critical illness and business travel and accident insurance are provided or available. We regularly review our Total Rewards package to ensure our offerings are competitive and reflect what our employees have told us they value most.
