About this role

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Program Manager is responsible for the E-Systems Program Management function and primary customer contact point for existing & future programs and new product introduction. The position is also responsible for the coordination of program activities within the CS business unit, and responsible for ensuring the functional teams are fully engaged and focused on delivering premium products to a key customer, following the robust design on time ethos.

 

SCOPE OF THE POSITION

The key responsibility is to manage the team to ensure efficient introduction of new program launches, to control all Functional groups and to ensure flawless delivery of multiple complex programs on time, on budget and to the required quality Standard. Project Manager II delivered proven track record of success launches related to complex and significant projects as well as performance and commitment in steady way along the years. The Project Manager II will have remarkable customer leadership.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

•     Fully accountable for the assigned CS UEA Programs.

•     Full Budget control of program cost centers.

•     Ensure program is effectively controlled and take a leading role in any recovery plan.

•     Establish and build effective customer interfaces at all levels of the business.

•     Lead the Manufacturing teams to deliver future MY changes and new model launches, ensuring engineering/cost/quality and timing objectives are defined and achieved.

•     Understand key Financial tracking tools - Control, track and report program status throughout the program life to Senior Management using Learpro system.

•     Full program financial accountability (APR) and ownership of the roadmaps to profitability. Manage resources within optimum levels of business requirements and budget.

•     Ownership and progression of the OI roadmaps to ensure CTO targets are achieved.

•     Assume leadership role in resolution of issues and conflicts.

•     Liaise with other European E-system units to promote synergies.

•     Work closely with other functions (such as Sales) to ensure a unified approach.

•     Focus the team on delivery of program and customer sign off (PPAP approval) to ensure customer cost recovery in line with Corporate requirements.

•     Develop and maintain program timing plans and budgets to match internal and external customer requirements.

•     Manage tooling timing and budget to support program milestones.

•     Define workload and resource requirements in conjunction with functional departmental managers to deliver robust design on time and on budget.

•     Take a lead role in the implementation and promotion of the Lear Corporation procedures, corporate tools and processes.

•     Take a leading role (when appropriate) in quality issues.

•     Experience of working closely with manufacturing plants to ensure all elements are controlled including PAR, Components, Logistics etc..

•     Working with Platform manager to improve regional PM´s outcomes. (CTO target- PMER, etc.)

•     Provides feedback and helps implement process improvements as part of L&L output.

  • Proven Project / Program Management experience
  • Proven People Management Skills
  • Familiar with Automotive processes and procedures
  • Previous experience of vehicle launches
  • Commercial / Financial awareness
