Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy is a multidisciplinary outpatient private practice in need of a licensed Certified Physical Therapist. We are a growing and fast-paced campus that offers Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapy services in a traditional clinical setting, as well as on our ranch, with the incorporation of the horse as part of a comprehensive evidence-based plan (hippotherapy.)

Essential Functions

Physical Therapist performs assessments and interpretation of evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription and carrying out a treatment plan that supports functional improvement across the lifespan.

  • Provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determine physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
  • Help patient accomplish goals outlined in treatment plan and effective use of therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as nonmanual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities and in using assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
  • Administer physical therapy treatment by applying physical agents, electrical stimulation, directing treatments given by assistants, and aids.
  • Evaluate effects of physical therapy treatments and fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommending adjustments and modifications.
  • Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care conferences.
  • Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs.
  • Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, according to the law.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protects clinic operations by keeping information confidential, according to the law.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Develop physical therapy staff by providing information; developing and conducting in-service training programs.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Participate effectively as a member of the IEP team, but providing these services as part of a comprehensive education plan and in accordance with the written IEP.

The compensation range varies based on experience, $83,200.00 - $97,760.00

Requirements

  • Possess a valid California PT License
  • Pediatric experience a plus!
  • Clear Livescan
  • TB Test
  • CPR Healthcare Provider Card
  • Availability until 7pm during weekdays
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility
  • Be a Strong-Team Player
  • Have a desire to continue to grow as a professional
  • Regularly stand, bend, stoop, lift and move intermittently during shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Push or pull wheeled items over 100lbs.
